Shaver Lake continues to kick a lot of trout and some kokanee says Dick Nichols, of Dick's Fishing Charters. " We have limited out on every trip the past 5 weeks and continued to get some nice trout and 5 to 6 kokanee per trip," said Nichols
The kokanee are hunkered down deep, 82 to 85 feet, near the bottom and are getting closer to spawn each day. You need to cull out the very red salmon, but there are plenty that are still in good shape to harvest. The surface water temperature dropped a tad to 68 degrees and the lake had a very slight drop in volume.
