Fishing is fair and improving. Stripers are waking up from their winter hibernation. They are still very spread out so it is important to move a lot to find willing fish. Try the Mokelumne and San Joaquin Rivers. Medium to small clousers and bluegill patterns fished from 4-15 ft deep. Pauses are still important but the stripers are getting more active and are willing to chase a faster moving fly. March and early April are prime when the wind stays down.
