Trout have been slow at Quarry Lakes this week, but smallmouth bass have been biting.

WHOPPERS:

Wes Harwell, from San Carlos, caught a 3lb. 8 oz. Rainbow trout off of Fisherman’s Row on mice tails and Power Bait.

Tom Sanford, from Redwood City, caught a 10lb. 1oz. Rainbow trout from his float tube on the far side of Horseshoe Lake on trout worms.

Anthony Evans, from Redwood City, caught a 5lb. 15oz. Rainbow trout on an orange and silver needlefish lure. He was fishing off of Fisherman’s Row.

Notes:

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE 100 FEET AWAY FROM THE FISH TUBE, THE BOAT DOCK, AND THE BEACH AREA while fishing from the shore and from a boat. Also, note that the use of lead fishing tackle is prohibited at Quarry Lakes.

There was positive tests for blue-green algae in and around the swimming area. The swim area is currently closed and park visitors should be watchful of their dogs, taking care that they do not contact the water.

Currently our boat ramp and fishing pier are both open and the water is on the rise.
