HAPPY HOLIDAYS . . . The trout action has held up well over the weeks with the best baits being rainbow power bait, night crawlers and the variety of lures with Thomas buoyant and small gold Kast Masters proving best. Pier #3 and Trout Cove areas have been seeing the best action in the deeper parts of the lake. Most anglers are reporting average- size trout from Trout Cove and other areas with most fish in the 1 to 2 pound range. Try trolling with lures if the action is slower during the afternoon. The last stock was planted December 28, with 1200 pounds of rainbow trout. The week of December 31 through January 4 will be a skip week for the trout plant. Dixon is planting another 1200 pounds of rainbows for the week of January 7-11.

The catfish bite has slowed down this last week. The catfish are hitting cut mackerel, night crawlers, and even on power bait. The "BEST" action is on the shoreline at the northeast corner of Whisker Bay and the Buoy line. Also, try fishing the Buoy line in the deeper parts of that area.

There has been little or no action for the bass the past weeks. One lucky angler caught nice 5 to 6-pound largemouth bass in the Catfish Cove area near Pier #4 this week.
