WIND ADVISORY UNTIL 11PM! Lake is at 96% capacity. Boat inspections have started so be aware! Awaiting a stocking of DFW trout as the last stock was over a month ago! In the upcoming months expect some intensive stocking of Rainbows and Cutthroat trout here, as the DFW is trying to encourage fishing statewide this year. Keep tuned for updates! As it turns out this previous statement seems like B.S. as the state has forgotten about our area up here in Tahoe! Good thing is to call and ask why our lakes are not being stocked! (916) 445-0411, that's the number, give them a call! Throw everything you have at the trout now, ie: powerbait, nightcrawlers, and salmon eggs and combinations of these baits, spoons and spinners of different varieties. By casting closer and then working your way out a little further one can detect what depth the trout are cruising and having patience is key to success now. Marc Christophel and Shaun Rainsbarger have been out quite frequently and have reported that lots of nice Mackinaw are being caught in 80-90 feet down in 100-120 feet water. Humdingers, Needlefish, Speedy Shiners, and similar lures are getting most of the hookups. Kokanee fishing has been decent on the South side of this lake in 15-35 feet of water but Kokes are small ranging from 8-11 inches. May change this week with the unsettled weather! Get a guide for this lake and learn the ropes! Guides listed on bottom of this page and all are highly recommended! This lake was last stocked the week of 4/24/16!
