Anglers have been reporting success all along this stretch of the river for striped bass, with most of the catches being in the two pound range. Anchovies are popular and productive for the area. From Big Bend State Park to the nature center, there has been some striper action and some catfish being landed. Largemouth bass seem to be going for spinner baits and the catfish are after nightcrawlers and anchovies. Remember to take extra water and snacks out during the heat of the day or fish early morning and late evening.
