Fishing on the upper Klamath has been good the last three days, but cold. Early morning temperatures have averaged 20 degrees, the last few mornings, but have risen into the mid 40's by noon. The temperature starts to drops rapidly back down after 3pm and it has been getting dark shortly after 5pm. We are currently in a full moon phase. It was very clear and bright the last couple of nights, allowing the Steelhead to feed all night long. I would say that yesterday was kind of slow because of this, but on Monday the bite was great, we landed 6 adults between 18 and 23 inches and weighing between 2 and 4 pounds. Almost all of the bigger Steelhead have come while back trolling a rebel crawdad plug. We have also picked a few adults on flies under an indictor and back trolling a jet diver/nightcrawler combo. With the mornings being well below freezing a 9am or 10am start is quite adequate, the Steelhead like to warm up too.
