The fishing on the river has been on fire. My cousin Chris (Mission Viejo) came to visit the same time my Dad got back from his cruise and along with Conner, the trio caught and released 95 Steely Trout. They had non-stop action most of the three days we were on the river. Saturday, we had a high of 42 fish while Sunday's total was 33. Despite the cold rainy conditions on Sunday the bite did not stop, it also seemed to help the bigger fish become more active, 10 of the 33 Steely Trout were over 1.5 pounds and topping out at 3 pounds. Dad landed the best fish of the three days a nice wild Steelhead that was over 20 inches and weighed 4 pounds. We back trolled the hotshot worm combo the entire time. I’ll be out on the river the next 3 days but I have openings if you are interested in getting in on the action.
