Fishing on the Klamath River has been good this week. My clients Dick and Ken hooked up on 20 plus Steelhead over two days of fishing. Despite the full moon, crazy weather changes (warm sun, wind, rain, freezing temperatures) and a very cold water the guys were able to find some steady action on Steelhead in the 1/2pound to 5 pound class and one big one that got away (Another add to the big fish that got away story list HAHA!). Using a slow methodical approach we worked various areas of the river from the hatchery to Klamathon Bridge to get the fish to bite. The first day Cd-5 rapalas the best with rebel crawdads a close second, both plugs were coated with ProCure fish anise and crawdad gels. The second day back bouncing a whole night crawler soaked in Procure krill/shrimp oil finally got the fish to bite later in the day. The morning was very slow as a weather front moved through. It is a great time to fish the Klamath and either Lake Siskiyou or McCloud Reservoir the fishing is good and there is very little traffic, we saw one boat on the river in two days of fishing. Give me a call at (530) 905-0758 if you are looking for a little fishing fun, I have a couple of open days next week and the week after. March is wide open if that month fits into your schedule.
