Month in month out one thing you can count on is consistent Steelhead fishing on the Klamath River. This year round fishery has some amazing Steelhead and Trout action that is available no matter the month or the weather conditions. The 20 miles of the Klamath river below Irongate reservoir is practically blowout proof. If anything, storms help color the river up and provide better fishing. Currently, we are in the midst of the Winter Steelhead run on the Klamath river and this is the time when an Angler has his best chance at the biggest Steelhead the Klamath has to offer. Winter Steelhead on the Klamath range in length from 16 to 30 plus inches, these fish can weigh between 1 and 14 pounds. We see a lot of fish in the 2 to 8 pound class during the Winter run, and if you hit the 9 to 10 pound plus class, consider yourself in the special Holy Grail range. Those are real treats and in my book anytime you crack double digits for Steelhead and Trout that is special. November on the Klamath finished strong with clients landing some beautiful Steelhead in the 7 pound class. I look forward to that consistent action in December as well, so don't let the colder weather scare you off. I have Christmas gift certificates available for that Epic stocking stuffer gift, so give me a call 530 905 0758.
