The trout are the happening along here on the Colorado River below the Davis Dam. We just had our stocking from the Willow Beach Hatchery. They will start again in October. The Rainbow Trout are being raised at the hatchery. This is a great time to go up there and check out their work these guys and gals are doing a great job and when time permits will be happy to fill you in with their process. This crew are really good at it. The hatchery is a great facility with a great crew. We have Dell Pragnell with his limit of 5 trout using power bait in the community park area. He says don’t give up and mix your colors up to find which works. and I would say try some of your spinners and let me know which one is working for you. I have heard the Striped Bass bite is picking up but in the 1 to 3 pound range. the striper limit is 10 along the river so that can be a great fish fry. The bait of choice remains anchovies not saying other baits won’t work but the anchovies produce fish. again keep me posted what is producing the best.
