Today we fished Shasta Lake in the tough "red flag" winds near Shasta Dam. Trout have been stacked on the north wall to the left of the Dry Creek arm entrance for the past week or so. Lots of bass and some bait balls as well, but with the trout scattered and moving up the arms this area near the dam is still holding all of the above. Todays clients released all their fish today, but we counted around 15 nice trout and a big brown that came to the net today. Most fish were caught in 90-100' feet of water using www.mackslure.com UV Sling Blades and fish scale Humdingers. Water temps on Shasta are sitting around 70 degrees now and it appears the fish are moving up the water column. The temps dont hit the 50's until you reach 90' though so its gonna be a bit before we"ll be doing any surface trolling.
