The East has been running at 188 cfs for most of this past week and the fishing has been excellent! We’ve had good reports on nymphs, streamers and even some dry/dropper fishing! Most of the dry/dropper action has been on the lower section below the bridge and the Nevada side of the border. The nymphing and streamer action has been pretty much on all sections of the river. It seems as though there are about 50% browns and 50% rainbows being caught depending on which section you’re fishing. We’ve seen browns up to over 26 inches as well as rainbows in that size range. The river is very healthy right now with the better water we’ve had over the last year or so. We did get a couple reports of anglers seeing reds and nests that the rainbows are sitting on so please be cautious when wading so you don’t disturbe any spawning activity. If you feel you want some help learning the river we can hook you up with some excellent guides from Walker River Outfitters to get you dialed in, just give us a call for availability.
