In spite of the heat we have some great fishing going on.  The area below Davis Dam here along the Colorado river is producing some nice trout limits and for our bait anglers its  power bait and night crawlers that are working best. Now I am not saying that other baits are better or worse and other types work also but anchovies work really well.  Other types of bait that have been used shrimp, squid, mackerel and sardines.  These will produce some nice hook ups  not sure if better or not than anchovies but once in a while maybe.  The same goes for your lure anglers.  There are a lot of great lures and some work better in this area than in others. I have my favorites the bomber long A and the pencil popper to name a couple.
