The Clackamas has receded to a more fishable state following two weeks of heavy precipitation. Though it is still early for winter steelhead, the big rain event coupled with the actual return of some early winter steelhead broodstock several weeks ago, means it’s not too early to begin targeting these fish.
Trout fishing is now catch-and-release only due to presence of wild steelhead smolts that could be impacted by anglers targeting trout.
