Shasta Lake has been producing some great fish and we're getting clients on limits of big fat trout when the bite is on. The trout are really stuffed with Shad now and it would appear that the feeding frenzy has begun. I'm still catching fish at 60' feet where temps are right at 60 degrees. I normally fish warmer water this time of the year, but the big boys are biting 60' feet down. We have lots of great fishing opportunities right now and Shasta Lake is one of them for sure!
Jeff Goodwin is a full time Northern California fishing guide. He guides year round for salmon, trout, steelhead, Kokanee, and bass on Northern California rivers and lakes. He fishes many bodies of water in the Redding area, but also guides the Sacramento River and Feather River during certain times of the year. Jeff can also be found on the California coast chasing ocean fresh King salmon and steelhead each year.
