17.30 Lb. Striper

Colorado River - Laughlin - Laughlin, NV

Our local angler Bill Trude (works for the city and it was his day off) landed a nice 17.30 pound stripped bass at 38 and 1/2 inches.  Bill was fishing from his boat using anchovies near the nature center.

Fishing below Davis Dam continues to be successful for most. The striper bite is going well and we are getting in some of the larger fish now. The 1 to 3 pound fish have been getting the bait quickly though. The larger fish are running with the smaller fish also its a good idea to ave a good knot and remember to retie ofter. One of the local anglers said that the Smallmouth bass in the river are hitting as well. Your best chance is the Ned rig in the peanut butter jelly. If you change it up to land a striper you much want to use a different presentation.

Our shore anglers are having great luck Mike Kinder was in the upper big bend area and landed a nice stringer of stripers Mike  was using anchovies .

Our local anglers Ben Aleman and fishing buddy Chris Vasquez were fishing from Ben’s boat in the lower Big Bend area and landed a few stripers. These are a great size and filet out easy.
