Riviera Marina Fishing Report

The fishing along the Colorado river continues to produce some great catches. The shore line at our Community Park is outstanding, we have some of the best shore fishing and super angling by boat. This time of year water levels need to be watched closely. Davis Dam provides an answer line and a web site to monitor the releases of the dams generators. The striper fishing has slowed a bit but they are out there. Our local angler Ben Aleman was fishing from shore and landed a couple of stripers in the 1 pound range and a large carp. Yep he was using anchovies and the carp went after his bait. He planes on passing the carp along to a friend that is looking forward to this gift. Our local angler Mike Hill was fishing from shore in the lower Big Bend area. His Rainbow trout weighed in at 1.9 pounds and was 17 and 5/8 inches he was using power bait. This trout was a hold over from the recent game and fish department stocking. Willow Beach Federal Hatchery will resume stocking on the 20th of October. They usually give us some great rainbow trout both in size and quantity.
Lake Mohave the striper bite is doing ok with anchovies and various lures producing a few in the 4 to 8 pound range. The hard baits are producing a bit better that the soft baits. Topock Marsh has slowed a bit as they are getting ready for the water fowl hunts. This time of year certain areas are closed and only open for hunters.
Hope this helps for now and we will see you in soon to share that catch thanks for all of your support.
