Its time folks to get your Sacramento River steelhead/trout trips scheduled.  Flows are dropping and there are lots of spawning salmon in the river below keswick Dam all the way to Cottonwood.  double digit days are the norm and since fall salmon spawn in shallow water they are easy to spot.  Throw real or imitation eggs below spawning salmon and you will catch steelhead and trout!  Our late fall salmon are pushing through the system, but with no rain and reduced flows, we're likely going to see them later in the month.  The hatchery run steelhead are in the system and will likely be around well into the next few months.  Most of the hatchery steelhead enter Battle Creek in January-February to head up to the fish ladder at Coleman Hatchery.  We took a few days off for the biggest flow drops this week and for the NCGASA fundraiser dinner.  We'll have boats back out on the Sacramento River starting tomorrow and will have some fresh reports for our followers.  Thank you!
