Flow Rates and Water Conditions:
Water temperature is running in the high 40's and is in great shape clarity wise.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches:
The bite is on for big fish from 10-20lbs. This is prime time for your shot at double-digit fish! We landed a 21lb. a couple of days ago, then three over 10lbs. the next day. These fish are very strong right now and will pull your socks off!
Recommended Flies
Many of our big fish are coming on our balanced Chewy Tui, which is a baitfish imitation. Also fish are coming on U.V. balanced Leeches, Bugger and Beetle setups and on the indo. hanging #12 chironomids.
Guides Hint: This is a patience lake guys, don't keep moving around if you aren't hooking fish. Just wait it out and keep your bug in the water. These fish come through in pods, and aren't normally just sitting out in front of you. They are always on the move, looking for Tui Chubs!
