Flows are still holding around 150cfs. Water is very clear, albeit cold with temps in the upper 40's most of the day. The BWO hatches are just starting to get going, and they're HUGE (size 12-14)! I was pointing out one to a friend around 12:30 yesterday afternoon and watched a bird snatch it out of there air! At that exact same moment, my friend hooked up on the only rising fish we could see in the area. Unfortunately the hatch didn't last very long. Maybe 45 minutes, and it was pretty spotty. I expect that to change in the coming weeks as the days start to get a little longer, so will the hatches. Honestly, it's not bad for early January down here. Fishing was much better under the bobber, or with the euro rig. Bigger mayfly patterns were working better than any midges I was running yesterday. Most of the fish are in deeper slower water, this mainly has to do with cold water temps and their metabolism in the cold water.
