The bass that have been in the 10’ to 15’ zone started to perk up a bit by the end of the week and were reported to be biting drop shot, and jigs. The deeper fish (40’ to 60’) seemed to completely shut off. Visuals on catfish have been on the increase most of them sighted in toll road and the chimney. The only one caught was a 15 pounder by Nino Bonventre of Santee. Bonventre used his “secret catfish bait” on #40 braid to tame that fat blue cat. Panfish were MIA last week.

The little bit of surface action that happened last week has dies off, leaving anglers to fish deep for a scratchy finesse bite. There are still fish scatted form 10’ to 60’. Live shiners seemed to be the only thing the fish holding shallow would bite. No panfish were reported, and once again there were a few visuals of catfish on the chimney, but no one targeting them. ...... Read More

Fishing bass in the deep water was tough last week, but there were fish chasing small silverside no the surface in the marina and around the small island. Those who waited them out were able to pick a few of these off. Small flukes, and spoons both produced. Several angels reported seeing some big catfish around the chimney and the aqueduct arm of the lake but apparently none were caught. Panfish were unreported last week. ...... Read More
