Great day on Shasta Lake with a few limits of good size rainbows by 10:30 before the heat really started up. Same story, different day with big fish being caught at 20'-30' every day now. Todays guests both caught personal best rainbows and picked up the tools necessary to go get em on their own. We have been finding a lot of success trolling small spoons and recently, some Brad's Killer Fishing gear Kokanee Cut Plugs (KCP's). KCP's are a great trout and salmon bait for Shasta because they are a small profile plug that imitates the natural bait in Shasta. Adding fresh cut strips of Shad, Anchovy, Herring, and even canned tuna will get lots of attention from hungry salmon and trout in Shasta. Phils Propeller carries a good supply of them so getting your hands on them shouldn't be hard. I'll be writing a blog on my website soon on how to rig them up for fishing on Shasta Lake. I spent a few days on the water with the Brad's Staff and really learned a lot about fishing them. Thank you!
