TEMPORARY LAKE HOURS!
The lake is open Saturdays and Sundays from
6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
June 30, 2020
- Stocking: Catfish Season is almost here! The lake will be stocked with 1,000 lbs. of catfish the week of July 13th. Find the new stocking schedule HERE.
- New Dock Installation: Assembly of the new dock has begun! During the new dock installation boat rentals and launches may be limited at certain times. We will update customers with plenty of advance notice of any boat rental and launching closures. The new dock will be installed and ready for use by the end of July!
- Night Fishing: Who's ready to cast a line in the shadow of night? We will open for night fishing on Friday, July 3rd from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Boat rentals will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, click HERE.
- What's the catch? Bluegill were plentiful this weekend! Cloister, Hermit, and Eagle were all producing big Bluegill. They were biting on nightcrawlers and mealworms. The bass bite was active in Sentry Cove and Half Moon Cove. Smaller bass were being reeled in at the t-dock and Siesta Point shoreline while larger bass were being caught by boat. Anglers were using spinnerbait and rubber worms to reel them in. Catfish were biting on mackerel in Siesta Cove.
- California Department of Fish and Wildlife offers two Free Fishing Days each year. On July 4th anyone can fish without a sport fishing license. The regular fishing permit fees at the lake still apply.
- Conditions: The water temperature is 76 degrees. For an up-to-date weather forecast in Lakeside click HERE. Looks to be in the warm all week!
- Boat Rentals are available first-come first-served! All those in a boat must be from a shared household unit to a maximum of 5 people. Boats may be limited due to sanitation requirements. To save time and limit staff contact, please print, sign and bring with you, the boat waiver found HERE.
- Lake COVID Regulations: Only one family unit in the bait shop at a time and everyone must wear a mask both in line and in the bait shop. Hand washing facilities are available at the bathrooms adjoining the bait shop. Please maintain social distancing at all times. Card payment is preferred. Fishing on the campground shoreline is for registered campers only. Please help us stay open by complying with these simple measures to keep our staff and the public safe. Thank you for your cooperation!
- Attention Walkers: Access between Eagle Point and Sentry Point is only available to registered campers to better control occupancy in the campground. There are still no day users or visitors permitted into the campground. No dogs are permitted on the recreation side of the lake.
- Campground is OPEN: The campground is open for reservations! Registered campers can fish from the campground shoreline everyday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekend reservations are filling up quickly...grab your campsite today by reserving online HERE. There is more availability mid-week!
- WE'RE HIRING! Love the lake as much as we do? We're hiring Dockhands to provide excellent customer service to lake visitors and maintain our boat rental fleet. Dockhands work weekends and holidays at the lake. We're also looking for Park Hosts to work in our campground. Exchange a minimum of 20 hours per week (includes weekends and holidays) for a campsite that includes water and electricity under a month-to-month lease agreement. For more information or to apply, please visit Helix Water District's job site.
- We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and guests! If you have a picture you'd like to share, please email them to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature them in our next lake newsletter or on social media.
