Fish Are Scattering Throughout The Water Column

The heat wave has slowed the bass bite some, scattering the fish throughout the water column. There’s still fish schooled up and chasing silversides, fishing the frog in the grass has produced a few for some, as well as the drop shot from 20’ to 50’ of water. The bluegill and red ear bite has slowed some, but there’s still been some panfish coming out of the toll road, aqueduct arm on drop shotted crawls and red worms. No reports of catfish to the concession last week.

PM Hours Have Been The Best Bet
San Vicente ReservoirThe bass were scattered from 3’ to 50’. Most of the bait seems to be way off the bank and the only thing on them has been terns, and pelicans. The PM hours seem to be the best, drop shot, rip baits, small swimbaits and jigs were the top producers. The bluegill have been steady in areas with large boulders, as well as the back of coves.
