The lake will close on weekdays after Labor Day remaining open only on the weekends throughout the fall. We will re-open seven days a week in mid-December following the first trout plant.

Catfish are being caught throughout the lake. Cut mackerel, chicken liver, or shrimp are the top baits for catfish.

Largemouth bass can be found lurking around structure and respond well to crawdads and dark colored plastics.

Crappie are being caught from shore in small numbers mostly in the early morning. Crappie prefer live golden shiners or mini-jigs.

The Catfish bite is best at the West Buoy Line. Lake Wohlford cats prefer chicken liver or cut mackerel. Stop by the ranger station for a dough-bait recipe that works well on both catfish and carp.
