The Truckee River is fishing best below the Boca Reservoir because of the higher flows. Upper river has minimal flows around 70 cfs. If you are fishing upper river, there is some dry fly activity with blue winged olives. Below Hirschdale, caddis and October caddis are working best. Some other patterns to try are crawdads, streamers, and small stone flies.
FLOWS: Tahoe City 76 CFS, Glenshire 77 CFS, Boca Confluence 450 CFS, and Farad Exit 497 CFS
RECOMMENDED GEAR:
Bugs: October Caddis, Small Stone Flies, Streamers, Crawdads, Midges
Gear: 9′-11′ 5-7wt rod with 9′-12′ 5x leader
