Launching at French Gulch is still not advised as mud covers the ramp with the extremely low reservoir level.

Fishing from the bank or with a kayak or other small personal water craft is possible.  Don’t expect a crowd (or anyone to pull you out), but there are fish to be caught as 15,000 legals were stocked in July.

The reservoir is 3 percent full with an elevation of 1,871 ft. Reservoir operations, elevations and boat ramp levels can be viewed by hovering over icons on the US Army Corps Rogue Basin Teacup webpage.

The USFS had already closed Hart-tish boat ramp for the season due to low water. Copper ramp becomes unusable around 1920 feet elevation, so the best bet is French Gulch for the rest of the year whenever the area closures are lifted.
