We have some Lake Mohave news and yep its striper on the lake. While the fishing around our Community Park has been super successful. The Lake Mohave shore line near Telephone Cove proved that the lake has some great shore line to explore for some striper activity. Our local angler Raul Gonzalez landed these stripers using anchovies from shore the larger one was 8.46 pounds at 29 inches and a nice second was 6.74 pounds and 25 and 1/2 inches. The wind this time of year can keep most boats off the open water until the weather co-operates a bit better.

Here along the Colorado River below the Davis Dam our shore line is producing some great catches. We have some nice rainbow trout being planted by the Willow Beach Hatchery. These fish are super fighters with some aerials now and again. I am getting word that power bait and night crawlers are working well and various grubs and spinners are producing limits of fish. A reminder the bag limit for trout below the Davis Dam is 5. If you plan to catch and release please be careful with the fish if you see blood you should keep the fish as its chances for survival are slim. When your hook or spinner is down deep in the fish you can cut the line it will be ok other wise it’s yours. I have been some good news that the Rotary Park area is having some good luck with both the rainbow trout and a few stripers in the area. The Sunshine Peninsula has also been a good spot for striper activity and a small mouth bass now and again.

The Topock Marsh has some catfish action near Catfish Paradise with anchovies or chicken livers working. I was informed that catfish dough balls also were doing well to land a few channel cats.
