  • Stocking:  We are halfway through trout season! Another 1,500 lbs. of trout will be added to the lake this week bringing our total stock to 10,000 lbs. in the lake. To view an updated stocking schedule, click HERE.
  • What's the catch? Eagle Cove and Cactus Patch were on fire this weekend for trout! Anglers were using Chartreuse Powerbait and mini jigs. The Hermit Cove buoy line and t-dock were producing bass. Bass were biting on shiners and senkos. The catfish bite was decent in Shadow and Siesta Coves. Cats were biting on mackerel and nightcrawlers.
  • New Moon Fishing: On Thursday, February 11th the lake will be open 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for night fishing. Take advantage of that sunset trout bite and a recently stocked lake! Both rentals and launches will be available. A full-sized lantern is required after 5:00 p.m.
  • Lake Open Presidents' Day: What better way to cap off your 3-day weekend than to spend the day at the lake? Join us on Monday, February 15th for fishing, boating, hiking, picnicking, eagle watching, etc.! The lake will be open 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Eagle Report: The eagle was busy this weekend! It was spotted flying around the t-dock and on the point just north of the dam. Bald eagles can live to be 20-30 years old in the wild, so this eagle is likely the same eagle that visited us in previous years. Eagles like trout season too!
  • A California Fishing License is required to fish our lake and now is the time to purchase your annual license as they are not pro-rated. We do not sell the license at the lake, but you can purchase one from most major sporting goods stores, Walmart, or online by clicking HERE.
  • Conditions: The current water temperature is 60 degrees. Looks like it will be cool and cloudy next weekend. Perfect for trout fishing! For a complete weather report in Lakeside this weekend, click HERE.
  • We're HIRING! We are looking for a new dockhand to join our team. Our dockhands are friendly, courteous, and provide excellent customer service while enforcing the rules and regulations at Lake Jennings. Dockhands are also responsible for the care and maintenance of our boat rental fleet and typically work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you think you or someone you know would enjoy working at the lake, click HERE for more information.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and campers! If you have a picture to share, please send it to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature it in our newsletter or social media pages.
