Donner Lake was recently stocked and is fishing great. The Mackinaw Trout are awake and are biting from shore. Kokanee are also starting to hit primarily on the north and east shore of the lake. Shore anglers are still getting consistent results for rainbows between the guard rail and the west end boat ramp using garlic scented powerbait or kastmasters. If you’re trolling for Mack’s at Donner, troll around 80-90 feet of water with j plugs, crippled herring, and large rapalas.
Donner Lake is currently at 66% capacity.
