Catfish can be caught throughout the lake, but are most active at the West Buoy Line. We are planting a thousand pounds of catfish just prior to Independence Day weekend so look for a surge in activity around the 4th. Lake Wohlford cats respond well to cut mackerel or chicken liver. Stop by the ranger station for a dough-bait recipe that works well on both catfish and carp.

Largemouth bass can be found lurking around structure. The bass are hitting dark colored plastics, rattle traps, and jerk-baits.

The rising lake level combined with an abundance of baitfish is making the bass fishing challenging right now.
