  • Stocking: The last stock of 1,000 pounds of catfish was the week of June 21st bringing the total stock for the season to 4,000 pounds. The next catfish stocking will be the week of July 12th. For an updated stocking schedule, click HERE.
  • What's the catch? The catfish bite this weekend was best in the evenings in shallow waters. Fish along the banks of Hermit Cove or Eagle Point. The campground shoreline can be productive as well. Mackerel and nightcrawlers are reeling them in. Shadow Cove and Cloister Cove were the top producing locations for bluegill. Wax worms and night crawlers continue to be the favorite baits. The bass are biting all over the lake from shoreline to boat. Senkos and Zoom worms worked best. Whether you are catching your first fish, personal best, or a stringer full, we want to know! Weigh your catches at the Bait Shop and tell our rangers.
  • Lakefront Firepit Rentals: The next available date to rent firepits by the lake is Friday, July 16th. Firepits are available 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the fee is $12/person with a maximum of 6 people per pit. Limited availability, call (619) 596-1306 to reserve yours today!
  • Conditions: Because of the aeration, the water column is well mixed, with plenty of oxygen deep for fish that favor cooler temps. The current temperature is 76 degrees. New Moon is Friday, July 9th. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • Campground News: We are taking reservations for long term camping! Our long term season Is September to March. Long term reservations are a minimum of 30 nights and maximum of 90 nights. Full and partial hook-up sites available. For more information call (619) 596-1333.
