While it has not been as bad as it has been in other areas here in Northern California, smoke from the fires is definitely impacting the Hat Creek drainage. The fishing has remained very good. Early Mornings and late evenings are very good and with the smoke, mid day hatches can occur. There are still some Tricos hanging around in the mornings near the Power House 2 riffle. Look for micro caddis in the late evening just before dark. The riffle section below 299 has had some fish still eating little Yellow Sallies, but the stoneflies are all but finished for the year.
Hot Flies: TB Drowned Rusty Spinner, Rubberlegs, Sweet Pea Jigged Baetis, Pheasant Tails, Mercer's Missing Link, and Green Drakes
