The bass are still biting in this warm weather in the middle of August. They are biting on the top water with crank baits and flicker shads. Splash the bait around on top and see what happens. The Texas rig with the plastic robo both green and purple are working well. Catfish continue to bite on the bottom with dough bait and cut mackerel. The bluegill are still biting on pieces of live worms.

The water and weather have been warm to make it a solid mid August bite. The bass have been shallow between 10 and 20 feet in the early mornings. Go deeper after 8PM using jerk and crank baits. The bass bite is still very good. It’s mostly drop shot Texas rigging and senkos at about 20 feet for best bite. Catfish have been seen in the coves with mackerel and cut up night crawlers reported working well.
