Pyramid Lake held near 90 percent of capacity, and anglers reported another week of good trout fishing. After several stockings the trout have been thick in the marina and various coves around the lake. The 10” to 14” stockers went for dough baits, nightcrawlers, and lures. Striper anglers did the best while soaking sardines or anchovies in the Marina, Yellowbar, and Brazos. Striper also fell for trolled umbrella rigs on points in about 30 feet of water. Bass anglers used drop shot and Ned rigs to fool bass along bluff walls and points. A lot of the bass have gone deep for the winter, and a slower presentation has been helpful. Deep diving crankbait worked to fool a better grade of bass. Catfish anglers reported another good week of fishing using cut sardines, chicken liver, and dip bait in deeper coves around the lake.
