At Alamo Lake (report courtesy of Arizona State Parks Ranger Matt Ogden), bass fishing has been so-so, but there are still fish to be caught by patient, knowledgeable anglers. Bass have been hanging out in deep water where most success has come from drop shot or Texas-rigged presentations. Some bass are being caught on jerk baits, but mostly with soft plastics out deep. There have been quite a few crappie hanging around the buoy line suspended at 15-30 feet. Jigs or minnows are currently your best bet to catch crappie. Some anglers have also had success by trolling small crankbaits. Catfish are biting pretty well for anglers on shore or from a boat and seem to currently prefer night crawlers or anchovies. Some catfish anglers are catching fish on shrimp, hot dogs, and prepared stink baits as well.
