The Nehalem went all the way into flood stage on Tuesday. This big river takes a long time to drop and green up so the lower river may not be fishable this week. The upper river could come into shape a little earlier, and the few tributaries that are open to steelhead fishing (Salmonberry River and Cook Cr) will fish earlier as well. The Nehalem mainstem is a mostly wild steelhead river without any hatchery releases, but there is plenty of catch-and-release opportunity for wild steelhead.
