  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,500 pounds of trout last week! The last stocking of the season is the week of April 18th where another 1,500 pounds of trout will go into the lake. A total of 20,000 pounds of trout was stocked this season! Stay tuned for information regarding catfish season.
  • What's the catch?  Lots of personal bests the last few weeks because the bass bite has been strong. Anglers are still pulling bass from all over the lake. Swimbaits, shiners, and brush hogs are doing the trick. The best tackle for trout this weekend was powerbait, but inflated night crawlers did hook some trout as well. Trout are deep as the conditions profile below would indicate. If you don’t have a boat, try fishing for trout from the t-dock. Midday when it is warm and sunny and nothing else is biting, you can usually count on the Bluegill bite. Sounds like there was some activity in Half Moon Cove this weekend. We saw a picture of a large carp that was caught and released on Sunday. We didn’t catch where it was reeled in, but sounds like they caught it from shore. Catfish season will be here before you know it! We've stocked the bait shop with catfish bait and tackle to prep for the upcoming season. Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.
  • Conditions: With air temperatures rising, there has been some stratification in the water column with surface temps at about 67 degrees and bottom temps around 59 degrees. Look for the trout to be deeper. The sun is rising around 6:25 a.m. and setting around 7:15 p.m. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
