The lake held at 90 percent of capacity with water temperatures the mid-sixties. Small and largemouth bass fishing continued to improve, and the bite could really take off soon. Bass are spawning, and anglers used Senkos, Texas rigs, and jigs to fool fish. Small shad-colored swimbaits and jerkbaits worked for bites in the mornings. Striper anglers fed sardines, anchovies, and nightcrawlers to the jailbirds in the Marina and at Yellowbar. Shore anglers used the Carolina rig and boat anglers flylined baits for good number of striper. Striper also fell for trolled Kastmasters, umbrella rigs, and jerkbaits. Catfish anglers reported doing well in Yellowbar on chicken liver and anchovies. One angler reported catching some real monsters by injecting chicken liver blood into nightcrawlers.
