Fishing continues to be good on the Williamson River. Very large trout will begin to move into the Williamson River once the hot weather hits. June is typically one of the best months on the Williamson. Numerous insects are hatching including Skwala stoneflies, golden stoneflies, yellow sally stoneflies, small crawler mayflies and multiple caddis fly species. Currently redband trout are mostly eating small mayfly nymphs and sucker eggs. Most fish caught this time of year are small, ranging in size from 10 to 18 inches.

Anglers can launch boats at the ODFW boat ramp near Dollar General, The Waterwheel Campground or the Sportsman Retreat
