Isabella dropped to 10 percent capacity and the fishing has been very good for numerous species. The water temperature has been in the upper seventies and the Bass action continues to be excellent for numbers and quality. Local angler David Childress fished Thursday and reported solid action for Bass in the 1-to-2-pound range with an occasional 7-to-8-pound fish in the mix. The best action has been shallow with some fish coming in as little as 2-feet of water. Bass have been coming on Whopper Ploppers, Buzzbaits, Poppers, Crankbaits, Texas Rigs and Jigs. The bite has been much better early in the morning and then fades some until late afternoon. Many areas have been producing fish in good numbers, but the top areas this week are Rocky Point, the Flume, Engineer Point and both Dams. They are also finding fish around trees throughout the lake. Crappie anglers have been doing well close to the main Dam in 10 to 15-feet of water. Earlier this week we had reports of good numbers of Crappie coming on Get Bent Baits and live minnows fished 4-feet below a bobber on a slow retrieve. Trout Anglers have had some steady action with Get Bent Baits, Garlic Powerbait and spinners. Boat anglers trolling leadcore with Flicker Shad, Tasmanian Devils and needlefish have been scoring. Catfish are showing in good numbers with fish to 10 pounds reported on Dip Baits, nightcrawlers and cut baits. The carp action has been excellent, and they can be seen in large numbers swimming near the shoreline in a couple feet water.
