In the Upper Kern, anglers have been scoring holdovers and natives with Get Bent Baits, trout worms, spinners, and salmon eggs. Fly anglers have had success with size 12 to 18 nymphs along the 20-mile stretch. The Lower Kern has had the best fishing the last couple of months. The Bass action is very steady for both Smallmouth and Largemouth on spinners, Get Bent Baits, and soft plastics. Small Catfish can be caught with Triple S Dip Baits, clams, and worms. Bluegill have been coming on live worms. At the time of reporting, the Upper Kern River at Kernville was flowing at 104 CFS and the Lower Kern River was flowing at 155 CFS.
