We will re-open for weekday use at the beginning of trout season in mid-December. We will close a half an hour earlier beginning next weekend.

Catfish are biting throughout the lake, but particularly near the west buoys. Lake Wohlford cats prefer chicken liver, shrimp, or cut mackerel. Stop by the ranger station for a dough-bait recipe that works well for both catfish and carp.

Crappie can be caught in the early mornings or late afternoons. They prefer some cover in which to hide. They are most often caught on mini- jigs or live golden shiners.

The bass are active patrolling the rocks and the reed lines looking to ambush their prey. They are currently hitting swimbaits, crankbaits, and dark colored plastics.
