Road access to Ashurst Lake and campgrounds is open, but the campgrounds typically close sometime in October. Water clarity is good. Rainbow trout were stocked this week. Folks have been successful using corn, PowerBait, and nightcrawlers on the bottom and slowly trolling small lures from a boat. The lake level is low, but launching a small boat is possible. There are some large exposed boulders on the boat launch to watch out for. Only boats with a 10-horsepower motor or less are allowed on Ashurst Lake. Surface water temperature 53.9 F, pH 8.8, D.O. 7.2 on 10/17/2022.
