The Lower Deschutes has been fishing well. Nymphing remains the most consistent method and october caddis, stoneflies, copper johns, perdigons, and eggs have been some recent favorites. Having some PMD and BWOs on you is not a bad idea. Swinging sculpin, crayfish, and leech streamers has also been picking up some nice trout. There are steelhead around and people have been catching them swinging flies and nymphing. If you catch a wild fish, please leave it in the water and release it quickly.
