Flows are close to normal out of Wildhorse dam and fishing has improved a bit in the east fork of the Owyhee. Snow is forecast for this weekend and ice is forming on some of the slower pools. Some of the larger pools have been productive for trout, with those closer to the dam having reservoir sized fish while those further down the canyon producing wild trout in the8 to 14 inch size. Anglers report good fishing near the USFS Wildhorse Crossing Campground with dries. Dry fly fishing is mostly done for the year but small streamers and nymphs should be productive. Spin fishermen should use small gold spinners or dark spinners with contrasting light colors. As of November 4, the East Fork of the Owyhee below the dam was flowing at 7.83 cfs while at the gauging station in Mountain City it is flowing at 16.9 cfs.
