Trout are on the bite and a lot of anglers are finding some nice fish in the Centimudi and Jones Valley areas. This is an easy rig, with the fish shallow you can fish an olive or black Wooly Bugger, stripped or under an indicator. Of course, the 1/32 Shad Float 'n Fly under an indicator is a good setup too. You wont have to fish a deep drop, five feet under the indicator should be more than enough. Bass are definitely on shad right now, look for them pushing balls into the creeks and towards the banks. The lake is in pretty good shape right now. For bass, if you find fish in shallow water you can toss a streamer pattern like the Pyramid Minnow in white or the Masked Minnow on a full sinking line to get it down fast. The fishing is really shaping up now on Shasta.
