The Wilson will be open for retention of hatchery salmon but will be closed to wild Chinook retention for the remainder of the year due to low returns forecasted for the fall run. See the regulation updates for more information. There are no hatchery Chinook releases on the Wilson River, so numbers of retainable Chinook will be very low.
It is still early for winter steelhead on the Wilson, which doesn’t really kick off until December, but there could be the odd fish show up this month.
Cutthroat trout fishing closed on Oct. 31. It will reopen May 22, 2023.
Wilson River levels and predictions are available here.
