There was a huge turnout for this season’s trout opener with a lot of large rainbows being caught early in Boat Dock Cove. The leader, so far is ten-year-old Elias Rizzotto of Escondido who landed a 9.10# trout on pink hook-up bait on Bass point. Joel Wright tied the leader with a 9.10# taken in Boat Dock Cove. Other notable catches included; Robert Pellico’s 8.70#, Sam Bush’s 7.90# and Jesse Tran’s 7.30# trout. The trout are hitting jigs, powerworms, and inflated nightcrawlers.Thank you to all the folks who showed up for the opener and made it such a big success.
Largemouth Bass can be found lurking around structure. With the re-introduction of trout to the menu this might be just the time to dust off one of those big swimbaits in the hopes of landing a double-digit bucket mouth.

In response to the shorter days for a limited time the ½ day boat prices will be offered beginning at noon instead of 1:00 p.m. Fall is a time of increased feeding for the catfish. As they prepare for winter, they become more voracious and less discriminating. Lake Wohlford cats prefer chicken liver, shrimp, or cut mackerel. Largemouth...... Read More
